The initiative for this project is rooted in the climate change problem today’s society faces. As direct example of power-to-x capability in the electrochemical field, ELCAT is in this PhD engaged in a partnership with a leading chemical company in vision of an emission free pathway as an alternative for a current, carbon heavy base chemical production process. Using state of the art technology and design this project aims to develop a high performance electrochemical reactor setup. The generated data coupled to a Techno Economical Analysis (TEA) serves as a first phase towards a large scale sustainable process.
