ELCAT beats COVID-19

COVID-19 prohibited us to work on the campus from March until June 2020. Therefore, a halt had been imposed on experimental research. From march on, ELCAT implemented a triple shift system, which made labwork possible again.

However, various preventive measures have been implemented, such as cleaning all desks and labs, wearing gloves and mouth masks. Nevertheless, the start of vaccinations resulted in a shift change, from a triple to a flexible shift system in which each team member only had to work from home one day a week.

This system allowed ELCAT to have a maximum occupancy of 50%. This approach stays in force as long as COVID-19 remains a risk or other rules would be imposed by the University. This rapid and efficient approach ensured no spread of COVID-19 within ELCAT.
