Since the 1st January 2019, I have been working at the Laboratory of Applied Electrochemistry & Catalysis (ELCAT) of the Faculty of Applied Engineering at the University of Antwerp as a tenure track research lecturer (TTZAPBOF) in the field of electrocatalysis combined with in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The main aim of my research, carried out in our university’s internationally renowned ELCAT and EMAT laboratories, is to synthesise innovative catalytic hetero-nanoparticles and set up in-situ TEM experiments to quantitatively monitor in 3D, structural and morphological changes of hetero-nanoparticles during catalytic reactions, both at the nanometric and atomic scale. In this way, we can gain a better understanding of the relationship between the structure, composition and catalytic properties of hetero nanoparticles
